The Puget Sound region’s industrial market has been awash in superlatives for several years. Eighteen months ago, the region had the world’s steepest rent increases, according to CBRE. Six months after that, the Des Moines submarket saw record pre-leasing, rival Colliers International reported. In Lewis County at the Port of Centralia, wholesaler United Natural Foods Inc. leased a 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center that opened this month.
